Introduction
Authentication is the process where we get a "token" from your bank that allows us to request your transactions for you for 90 days. Refreshing is the process where (whilst your token is valid) we can get your most recent balance and transactions for you.

What are Refreshing and Authentication/Re-authentication?
Authentication
- When you first add your bank account to Money Dashboard Neon you will be directed to your providers online banking portal. Essentially behind the scenes when you agree for us to get your transactions for you the handover creates a "token" (known as an OAuth or Authorisation token) that uniquely identifies you. This toke is valid for 90 days.
Reauthentication
- You will see next to all of your provider accounts a countdown. This countdown highlights how many days your current token is valid for. We would recommend you reauthenticate your account before 90 days
- That is done simply by going into your accounts tab --> pick the account you want to reauthenticate --> select details --> reauthenticate account
Refreshing
- All refreshing does is "request" the most recent transactions for you. This is automatically done every 4 hours however you can manually refresh whenever you want on the home page or accounts tab (look for the circular arrow at the top of the page)
